The North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a special Southeast Region (SERFA) launch workshop on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 as part of the first day of the 20^th International Folk Alliance Conference.

This is an opportunity for everyone from the Southeast US Region to gather to discuss the direction of the SERFA region. In order for this region to have the chance to enhance the Folk community, we need your help.

We are requesting that all artists, presenters, agents, managers, record companies, website developers, educators, media, and anyone else that works with traditional music and dance attend this important meeting.

The SERFA region states are: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

This meeting will be hosted by founding SERFA President, Kari Estrin and Folk Alliance Executive Director, Louis Meyers. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 20 at the Memphis Marriott Hotel from 1:00pm – 5:00pm and is free to anyone from the region that would like to attend. All guests will be invited to stay and join us for our Opening Reception with a Sneak Peak at the Folk Alliance Conference Exhibit Hall (5:00pm – 6:30pm), the 2007 Folk Alliance Awards Show (6:59pm – 9:00pm), special opening night Feature Shows (9:00pm – 11:00pm), and opening night Private Showcases (10:30pm – 2:00am).
